For all participants, GNTE will provide a foundation for a lifelong love of tennis while creating a social community and fostering better health. For some, it will be a pathway to team participation and competitive sports. For our most dedicated and talented players, we hope GNTE will create opportunities for high school varsity letters and, perhaps, college scholarships. Most importantly, GNTE puts all kids on a path towards greater educational opportunity, and inspires them to reach higher and excel.

Currently, there is a lack of access and exposure to quality tennis instruction in the Newark area, creating a gap of opportunity for local children. Under the leadership of renowned pro and Newark native Bob Bynum, GNTE gets kids playing the first day they step on the court.  This teaching quickly infuses a sense of joy, accomplishment, and excitement. Instruction is woven into gameplay, helping students to build skills and mastery. This approach gets kids motivated to participate and progress in the program. For more advanced players, high level coaching, tournament prep, and coaching will be provided.

Parents and caregivers are provided tennis instruction so they can share the joy of tennis with their children; this ensures that the whole family is involved, thereby furthering the community impact.
