Director of Tennis
Bob Bynum
Bob Bynum is the Director of Tennis for GNTE. As a USPTA certified Elite Professional and a USTA High Performance Coach, he brings over 40 years of coaching experience to the program. Bob has held a number of leadership positions in the tennis industry and currently serves as Director of Bob Bynum’s Match Point Tennis, Inc., Director of the Advanced Development Program at Westfield Tennis Club, and Local League Coordinator for Junior Team Tennis in the New Jersey Region of the USTA’s Eastern Section.

Bob is a native of Newark, New Jersey, and he brings unparalleled passion and experience to the children and families served by GNTE. He volunteers with the USTA, including as a member of the USTA Eastern’s Junior Competition Committee and a coordinator for USTA Eastern’s High School Play Days.
Director of Education
Dr. Omayra Arocho
Dr. Omayra Arocho is an Associate Dean of the College of Human Development, Culture, and Media at Seton Hall University. She earned her Ph.D. in Higher Education, Leadership Management and Policy from Seton Hall University. She credits the genuine compassion and mentorship of key university faculty and administrators for inspiring her as a first-generation college student to pursue a career in higher education and pay it forward.

Dr. Arocho is responsible for an array of student- and College community-related initiatives, including leadership of community development opportunities with the aim to engage, academically and professionally prepare, as well as acknowledge the achievements of faculty, administrators, students, and alumni. Additional areas of leadership include oversight of undergraduate and graduate student services and supports, establishing and maintaining internal and external community partnerships, and the development of co-curricular opportunities to contribute to and enhance the College’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Board Directors
Karen Gruenberg
Karen Gruenberg is a leader in the kids’ media space having served as Executive Vice President at Sesame Workshop, Chief Content Officer at GoNoodle and Hellosaurus. Her work spans the inception and launch of 2 major digital outlets, Noggin and Sprout, the management of multiple hit series, including Sesame Street and DragonTales, and other key projects with UNICEF, National Geographic and Epic Records. She is a founding board member of both the Morristown Festival of Books and Greater Newark Tennis and Education. Karen is an avid tennis player, having played at Lafayette College. She is active in the New Jersey platform and tennis community and always has Tennis Channel on 24/7.

Karen serves as the Board Chair and Executive Director of GNTE.
Charles McKenna
Charles McKenna is a partner at the law firm of Riker Danzig Scherer Hyland and Perretti. Charlie worked in the Christie and Murphy Administration as Chief Executive Officer of the New Jersey Schools Development Authority. He served as Chief Counsel to Governor Chris Christie as well as the Director of the New Jersey Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness.

Charlie was a federal prosecutor at the United States Attorney’s Office, District of New Jersey for 18 years. He received a J.D. in 1986 from St. John’s University School of Law, and a BA from Fordham University. In 2016 he received a Master’s of Professional Studies in Homeland Security from Penn State.

Charlie was the founding Executive Director of GNTE and previously was a board member of the Trenton NJTL.
Joe Mack
Joe Mack is Senior Compliance Counsel at Bayer U.S. Prior to his work at Bayer, Joe served for over nine years as an Assistant United States Attorney in the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of New Jersey. During his time there, Joe was a trial attorney, Deputy Chief of the Health Care and Government Fraud Unit and Acting Chief of the General Crimes Unit. Before going to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Joe was an associate at White & Case LLP and then Linklaters LLP.

Joe received his undergraduate and law degrees from Pace University where he was captain of the tennis team and a scholar-athlete.
Robyn Nish Friedman
Robyn Nish Friedman is a seasoned television production executive, specializing in live and studio production. She started her career at MTV before moving on to stints at vh1 and Bravo. Robyn has worked extensively in kids’ media, producing shows and content for Nickelodeon, GoNoodle and the US Open Arthur Ashe Kids’ Day. She is a co-founder of S’more Ideas and the principal of Gingersnap Productions.

Robyn is an avid tennis player and fan. She is past President and current Vice President of the Board of Trustees for The Maplewood Club and has served for several years as a Series Leader for the NJ Women’s Tennis League.
